Lita Rossana Ford - also known as Lita Ford - is an American guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter of British heritage. In the latter part of the 1970s, she served as a leader guitarist in the girl-only hard rock band The Runaways. The group did not make it on the scene in their home country of the United States, but gained enormous popularity overseas. Ford's solo career in heavy metal was successful after the 1979 split of the band. She began taking vocal lessons. The first album she released on her own was 'Dancing on the Edge'. Ford could not do much with either album, and she left the music scene for a decade. The smash hit album Lita which came out in 1989, served as the catalyst for her comeback. the single "Kiss Me Deadly' and the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' were both big hits. The singer disappeared from the industry for a several years following her sluggish success. The album release "Black" in 1995 was followed by the album 'Wicked Wonderland', a little over 15 years after. The year was 2016, and her latest album, 'Time Capsule' it was made available. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
